Salwar Kameez – Most Stylish Garment of India

Salwar kameez has been a staple of Indian clothing since the 1500s, with variations in the design ranging from the traditional long dress, to an everyday wear, as well as the more modest short style. It is mostly a sleeveless piece of cloth that has the basic embroidery done on it. Though there is a wide variety of designs in Salwar Kameez, it is most commonly worn by the Hindu and Muslim community.

Salwar kameez is an auspicious garment worn by Indian women, men, and even in many parts of Asia, and Central Africa. This type of clothing is often used to express elegance and poise, while showing off one's ethnic heritage.

In many parts of the world, such as the Middle East, women wear salwar kameez or salwar suits, also known as sarongs, which are loose-fitting and short. They are also worn to attend formal parties and social events in Western countries. Men wear the sarongs, also called hijabs, which are long pants, typically dark in color.

Today, it is not just Indian women who are wearing the salwar kurta, but other countries, including Pakistan, India, USA, England, and so on. There are many people who have adopted it as their own, in particular the Muslim women who wear this for religious reasons.

Though there are many forms of salwar kameez, they are all made up of a simple design, with an embroidered pattern on the front. In fact, all the different styles have this basic pattern as their trademark.

Today, Salwar Kameez has evolved to an extent where different patterns can be incorporated into the same style, giving a much more unique look to the fabric. The latest styles of salwar kameez are the designer made ones that feature all sorts of designs on them. One can find a lot of designs in the embroidery done on these salwar kameez. These designs are typically floral, like the shalwar saree, the zari, or the salwar choli.

Today, it is common to see Salwar Kameez with embroidery work on them that are made of silk, cotton, or other such material. Though this is quite expensive, there is no doubt that such a style looks elegant.

Even a cheaper form of Salwar Kameez, such as the Salwar jeera, is also highly fashionable. These are made of cotton and silk, and have the same embroidery and design patterns that you can find on the more expensive Salwar kameez. However, the difference is in the quality of the material used in these pieces.

Salwar Kameez is a common wear, especially among upper class Indians, in particular in Rajasthan, where these are worn on special occasions, such as marriages, festivals, etc. The salwar kurta and lehenga are also considered as the basic garment worn in the wedding ceremony. It is the attire that is worn on the wedding day and it is accompanied with the traditional ceremonial garland and other accessories.
